the sequel of the sleeping training..

As previous post mentioned, I started to train Tristan darling to sleep without latching on me.

The very 1st proper trial (4th Jan 10) he woke up at 1030am.
He seems pretty good mood when he woke up so i was kinda of relieved as i do worry that it might traumatised him with the cries. Trust me , since birth till now he have not cried that much!

2nd trial (4th Jan 10) at 1245pm, i put down the curtain, closed the door and carried him to his matteress.
Without saying much or even doing much, he started his engine and cried quite aloud.
I hushed him , saying is bed time, is nap time, orh orh time.. Sleep down and we shall play later ya..
He standed up a few times and i put him down immediately and he rolled around and tried to pull off my shirt a few times too..
I hugged him tightly and patted a little tho the concept is not to pat him to sleep but rather to affirm him im with him. I sang the usual TTLS (Twinkle Twinkle Lil Star) to him. From loud to soft and slowly i paused more and more in between each word. Slowly, he stopped crying, but breathe heavily from the effect of crying too much at one go. Then his body started to relax. Then he cried again a few times and stop for awhile. All these while I was hugging him tightly , his eyes were closed.
Finally he succumbed to the nap. I quickly sprint out of the matteress to check on the time.
To my surprise, He napped at 115pm ! Which means, we only took 30 mins for him to sleep.
-PHEW- Alright, not as bad as i imagined it. I thank God for being there for the both of us.
and he woke up at 245pm.. his nap lasted for 1.5 hours. Not Bad. :)

3rd Trial (4 Jan 10) Was actually his bedtime. Before that he took a nap without my presence as i was out for classes. I got no idea how my mom or hb managed to coax him to nap. But all i remember was, He woke up from that nap at like 9pm! Gosh, upon knowing that via sms from hb. I was so worried. How am i going to make him sleep for his bedtime when im going to reach home at 10pm plus and making him to sleep there.
Nevertheless, I returned home, Prewarned my parents individually about the execution of the Sleep Training. To prevent them from barging in our room during Tristan's cries no matter how bad its gonna to get.
The moment i reached home, I quickly settled myself and settled Tristan with his diaper and pyjamas changing and gave him the last latch. So to act as a signal for him to be awared that is bedtime soon. Shortly, after we switched off the lights, I told him is sleep time. Time to sleep, be good ok and we shall play hide-and-seek tomorrow when you wake up. He cried as expected. And screamed a little. This time round, he pulled himself to stand up lesser than the 1st and 2nd trials. And from 1030pm-1050pm he slept. Of coz, i still sang TTLS to him. Most of the things remained. Except he didnt even try to pull my shirt. :)

While waiting for him to get up for his midnight feeds , Crossing my fingers. Usually he wakes up at 1 to 130Am.

During the recording of this training process, He woke up at 213am and i carried him up to sit upright to latch and after latcing i laid him sleep facing the matteress at 220am and he went back to sleep!

Halleujah! Thank God for our lil success during our 1st Day of ST. Also, Thank God for the co-operation that my parents and hubby have provided. As initally i was so worried to even think of trying as afraid of their objections and anger towards me.

(Fyi, for babies 8months - 1yr old, this training takes at least 7 days to work.)

Im going to press on.
